Bob Cohen Biography

Bob Cohen is the President of International Radio for Clear Channel, a division with more than 140 radio stations or sales operations in two different countries: Australia and New Zealand. Cohen has served in this role since September 2001. Prior to that, he was the market manager for Clear Channel's seven stations in San Antonio, Texas including WOAI-AM, KAJA-FM, KQXT-FM, KSJL AM/FM, KXXM-FM and KTKR-AM. Cohen's career as General Manager and Market Manager of the Clear Channel radio stations in San Antonio stretched from 1990 until 2001. Cohen has been employed by Clear Channel since 1986 when he served as an account executive for the original Clear Channel station KAJA-FM or KJ-97.   He was later promoted to General Sales Manager, and ultimately to General Manager of that station. Cohen was then promoted to Vice President and Market Manager of the Clear Channel San Antonio radio stations.
 
Cohen's broadcasting career began in the late 1970's in Dallas and was combined with other sports marketing responsibilities including stints in the National Basketball Association with the Kansas City Kings and the Dallas Mavericks in the early 80's. That led to his return to full time radio with WBAP-AM in Dallas/Fort Worth followed by a two year project in the magazine publishing world before joining Clear Channel in San Antonio.
 
Cohen serves on several community and charitable boards including a long-standing presence on the board of the Texas Association of Broadcasters where he served as President in 2004-2005. He is also a board member and past Chairman of the Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, executive committee member of the Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, serves on the board of  the Valero Texas Open PGA Tour event in San Antonio and is a member of the Athletics Advisory committee for the University of Texas at San Antonio..  He is also a national board member of the College of Mass Communications at Texas Tech University.
 
Cohen is a native of San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas in 1979 with a BBA.  He and his wife Pam have three children – Matthew, Emily and Benjamin.
